Club visit to Prideaux Place

Updated: 4 days ago

It was the 3rd day of Summer, and the sun came out (most of the time). Approximately Twelve members cars turn up and were displayed in front of the magnificent Cornish Country house. Members sat in the amazing surroundings chatting and enjoying each others company before a light lunch supplied by the friendly and efficient resident staff. At two o clock sharp Jim turned up with his tractor and trailer ferrying buckets of diced carrots and barley grain for the ever hungry resident herd of fallow deer.

Jim was his usual self,  gladly entertaining all with tales of his work and love for these amazing animals. Jim was fresh from his appearance on ‘Countryfile’ bemoaning the fact that the TV people never allotted him time enough to regale the history of the herd and his work with them. I think if we could stand and listen to his account of his work with them, we would all still be there in the dark!

All in all another very enjoyable day with special thanks to Richard and Barbara for all their hard work in making such a memorable event.
