Club 10th Anniversary Luncheonat The Horn of PlentyTavistock

On the 21st April twenty members met at the Cornish Services for coffee prior to a run up to the Horn of Plenty Country house at Tavistock to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the formation of the club.

On what was one of the (very rare) sunny days of the year we set off along the Glynn Valley up to Liskeard travelling on to Callington through Gunnislake crossing the Tamar into Devon. Members were fortunate to enjoy a glorious run through beautiful countryside and scenery with some amazing views into the Tamar Valley. The Horn of Plenty is an imposing country house in open countryside overlooking Kit Hill with extensive views stretching away to Caradon Hill in the distance.

On arriving we were greeted with a glass of either Bucks fizz, Prosecco or  non alcoholic beverage, followed swiftly by canapés. Members then filed into the dining room for lunch. After a memorable lunch the Chairman gave a brief history of the club over the past ten years, highlighting the many events that have contributed to the remarkable success story that the club has become. He then made a presentation to Graham Brokenshire of a  framed certificate marking his contribution as a committee member since the inception of the club. Graham has now stepped down as a committee member after ten years as a hard working and much valued member, we will miss his wisdom and guidance at committee meetings. We wish him and Angela every good wish for the future.

At the conclusion of the day we made or way back to our homes retracing our journey along some incredible roads and aforementioned scenery.

Our grateful thanks must go to Geoff for arranging such an enjoyable event.
